The title tag (which is a part of HTML) is defined in the head section in the following way.

<title> Page Title </title>

Title tags are used to give a heading to pages. For example, if it is the home page, the title tag can contain the blog name. If it is a post page, then it can contain the post title and the blog name.

Be default, the titles of blog posts list the blog name followed by the blog post title. Having it the other way would be advantageous. (more…)

I had wondered for long if I should start this blog with a welcome post or if I should simply start off with some regular tutorials and blog posts. Initially, I thought that I will go with the latter but now, I had changed my mind. Or rather, I should say that I have been forced to change my mind. For some reason known only to me, I wanted to launch this blog on 9th at 09:09 with 9 initial posts and that day is tomorrow itself. Seven of the posts are ready and two more are yet to be written. But at this moment, I feel that it cannot be done. So, in order to move a bit closer to the nine posts target, I am writing this short introductory post for this blog.

As you might have already guessed from the title, ‘Blog Architects’, this is a blog by a blogger for bloggers. This blog will contain mostly tech tutorials on blogging. A variety of topics like Blogger platform, WordPress, SEO, Google analytics, webmaster tools etc. will be covered. (more…)

Keywords are at the core of on page SEO. Keywords are those words that people search for. For example, if you want to learn more about the Taj Mahal, then you search on Google for ‘Taj Mahal’. ‘Taj Mahal’ is the keyword here.

Importance of Keywords

Say that you wrote a post on X but people generally call it Y and while searching on Google, they search for Y and not X. If you have not used the word Y atleast once in your post, then the probability of Google realising that your post is about Y is very low. Had you used the word Y instead of X, your post could have been ranked much better for the word. (more…)

Backlinks is one of the factors that determines rankings of websites. More the backlinks, greater will be the viisbility on search engines. The underlying assumption is that people link only to pages they like. But this is not always true.

If a page A has a backlink to a page B, it doesn’t always mean that page A is endorsing page B. For example, a blogger might have written a bad review about a shopping site, and has also provided a link to it. The bloggers intention is to tell his readers that the shopping site is not a good one. But as he provided a backlink to the shopping site, Google may think that he is recommending that site. To deal with such situations, the concept of do follow and no follow links was introduced. (more…)

In this article, I will list down and explain in brief the different ways in which a blogger using Google’s Blogging platform can improve the SEO of his blog.

We categorise the available options into two categories – SEO of blog and SEO of posts. SEO of blog lists one time actions which have to be performed only once. These things affect the performance of your blog as a whole in SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages). SEO of posts lists down those things that have to be kept in mind while creating new posts. These things are related to how to present your content in a way that would be liked by search engines. These techniques affect the performance of individual posts in SERPs. All the items listed under SEO of blog and SEO of posts fall under on page SEO. There are also other techniques which fall under off page SEO and are not specific to the blogging platform. (more…)

The blogger navbar which is included by default on all new blogger blogs is something that many people wish to remove. Earlier, one had to edit the HTML code to achieve it but now, one can do it without fiddling with any codes. But that doesn’t work perfectly. It removes the navbar but not the space occupied by it because of which ones sees some empty space on the top. In this post, we will first see how to remove the navbar using the options provided by Blogger, the problem it causes and how to remove it by adding some CSS code so that empty space is not visible at the top of the blog.
